Sailing ban lifted this afternoon – Ferry routes to operate as usual tomorrow

How the schedules that were disrupted by strong winds are expected to be adjusted

Newsroom December 27 03:03

The sailing ban for ferry routes from the port of Piraeus will be lifted this afternoon (27/12), and all departures are expected to proceed normally tomorrow, Saturday (28/12).

At the ports of Lavrio and Rafina, however, the sailing ban remains in effect due to strong winds.

Specifically, the Blue Star ferry is scheduled to depart for the Cyclades from Piraeus at 15:00.

The “Anemos,” which had been scheduled to depart at 14:00 but was delayed due to the ban, is now expected to set sail at 18:00.

All ferries departing from Piraeus are anticipated to resume normal operations after 18:00.

Ferries unable to dock at Milos
It should be noted that due to strong winds, ferries on the route were unable to dock at Milos.

In particular, the adverse weather conditions in the Aegean Sea during the night caused disruptions to the schedules of two Minoan Lines ferries traveling to and from Heraklion.

The issue arose when neither the “Knossos Palace,” traveling from Piraeus to Heraklion, nor the “Festos Palace,” en route from Heraklion to Piraeus, could dock at Milos as planned to drop off and pick up passengers.
