Israel: Netanyahu leaves hospital for critical Knesset session two days after surgery

The Israeli Prime Minister underwent prostate surgery – He had to attend Parliament for the budget vote

Newsroom December 31 08:30

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appeared in the Knesset less than 48 hours after undergoing prostate surgery.

Given the weakened state of the governing coalition, Benjamin Netanyahu needed to leave the hospital to attend the critical parliamentary session for the budget vote. Nevertheless, he appeared to be in good health during his presence.

On Sunday night, Netanyahu successfully underwent a prostate removal procedure, while Israel remains engaged in war against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

“The Prime Minister woke up from anesthesia and is doing well. He was transferred to a recovery unit and will remain under observation in the coming days,” the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem announced following the operation.

Benjamin Netanyahu, who is 75 years old, had surgery for a hernia earlier this March, following the implantation of a pacemaker in July 2023.
