Rudy Youngblood: The actor’s run-ins with the law, drunkenness and threatening a police officer with a knife

The 42-year-old actor from the glamorous movie sets was found detained in Greece for assault, threatening and violating weapons legislation

Newsroom January 3 08:17

The 42-year-old actor Rudi Youngblood consumed a large amount of alcohol, was wandering around Athens, ran into a parked motorbike and when a police officer asked him if he was okay he pulled out a folding knife and began threatening the officer.

The movie sets was last Friday (27/12) detained in Greece after being arrested in Kipseli for disobeying, threatening and violating weapons legislation.

Eventually the man was stopped by officers and arrested at the junction of Thera and Patision. He was brought before the Justice and was given a 10-month prison sentence with a three-year suspension, but he could not be released, since it was found that he did not have a valid residence visa in Greece and was practically illegal.

According to reports, the actor arrived in the country a few months ago in order to participate in the shooting of a film. Now he remains in detention and deportation proceedings are underway against him, unless he manages to renew his visa in the meantime, in which case he will be released.

According to police, it all happened shortly after 3.00am last Friday morning. The actor had gone out to have fun, had been drinking heavily and while returning to the house he was temporarily staying in, he was found outside the Kypseli police station.

As he was drunk he hit a parked motorbike . The officer on duty saw him and asked him if he needed any help. Then, instead of any other answer, Youngblood took a folding knife from his pocket, opened it and began waving it threateningly at the officer, while the officer called for him to drop it.

The actor then began running towards Patision until he was eventually subdued and arrested. For his part, he reportedly claimed that he believed he was entitled to stay in the country because of a health problem he has until he could travel safely. He is now expected to file objection to the administrative detention with the relevant Directorate of Immigration.

It should be noted that in 2017 the actor was arrested again at a Miami casino in 2017 as customers complained about his behavior while drunk.
