On Thursday 9 January (20:00 local time) on the “X” platform, the a debate between the owner of the social media Elon Musk, and the leader of the Alternative for Germany (AfD), Alise Weidel.

“Central issues will be freedom of expression and the AfD‘s positions on creating a Germany capable of facing the future,” Ms. Weidel’s spokesman Daniel Tapp told German public television channel ZDF’s second channel.

The idea for the debate came from an X user, who made the suggestion in a post after Elon Musk had come out in favor of the AfD ahead of the upcoming elections in Germany.
