Problems on the road network in the city of Rhodes and in villages on the eastern side of the island were caused by heavy rainfall overnight.

At 2 a.m., 112 was sounded, with a message urging residents to be especially careful and limit travel. “Due to severe weather conditions (rainfall) on the island of Rhodes, please limit your movements. Follow the instructions of the authorities.”

The Public Protection forces have been fully mobilized, and there are reports of flooded houses in Pythonia.

The bad weather hit the areas of Faliraki, and Kalithion and then extended to South Rhodes and the city of Rhodes.

Although the phenomenon seems to have started to subside, the heavy rainfall caused very difficult conditions as roads were filled with water, mud, and stones.
