Expect light weather phenomena in our country over the next four days, with heavy rain on Sunday and Monday. However, the rain will be short-lived. Meanwhile, temperatures will progressively decline from the end of the week, returning to normal seasonal levels, according to a post by EMF Director Thodoros Kolydas.

According to Sakis Arnaoutoglou, a new weather change is coming today, with rain in western Greece. At the same time, there are continuing indications that a lot of “winter cold” will accumulate in the Balkans after January 10-11.

“There is a possibility that these colder air masses will descend on several areas of our country. If this happens, why not have snow surprises, depending on how this cold weather is combined,” Sakis Arnaoutoglou noted.

High temperatures in the heart of winter

Although we are in the heart of winter, high temperatures were recorded at noon on Epiphany, Monday 06/01, in many areas of the country. Particularly in Crete, the maximum was close to 20 °C. The temperature will rise slightly in the north and will be higher than normal. It will reach 14 to 16 degrees Celsius in the north, 17 to 18 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country, and locally 19 degrees Celsius in the south.

Winds will blow south-southwest 4 to 5 and in the sea gradually locally 6 Beaufort. In the evening in the Ionian Sea and gradually in the northwest they will turn to northwest and will increase during the night to 6 to 7 Beaufort.

The temperature will drop slightly in the north.

Winds will blow, in the west and north northwest 4 to 6 and in the seas 7 to 8 Beaufort with gradual weakening afternoon, and in the south initially west southwest 4 to 6 and the seas occasionally 7 Beaufort, but gradually will turn to west-northwest and from the afternoon will weaken.
