The search for the 23-year-old skier who had been missing since Monday afternoon (January 6) in Seli, Imathia, ended with a positive outcome.
The skier was found by firefighters at the “Prionia” location, where there was a shelter. He is in good health, but as a precaution, he will be transported to a hospital for medical evaluation.
This shelter is quite far from the Seli ski resort. According to reports, the 23-year-old became lost and sought refuge there to stay the night until he could be found.
Upon hearing the news, the skier’s emotional relatives broke down in tears.
A representative of the Fire Department stated:
“We were informed that four firefighters from Veria and Naousa located the skier we had been searching for these past hours. After speaking with him by phone, we understood that he is in good health. He is quite far from the ski resort.”
It is worth noting that the operation to find him began shortly after 6:30 PM on Monday, when the Fire Department was alerted to the skier’s disappearance.
The young man, from Kilkis, had reportedly been skiing alone on various slopes of the resort when he went missing. A few hours later, and after the 23-year-old had not returned, his friends informed authorities that they had been unable to locate him for hours.
