The Christian Union (CDU/CSU) maintains its lead in a new poll by YouGov, with the Alternative for Germany (AfD), however, increasing its share and closing the “gap” between the two parties.
According to the periodic survey by the YouGov institute, CDU/CSU garner 29% (-1) and are below 30% for the first time in many months, while in second place the AfD reaches 21% (+2).
The Social Democratic Party (SPD), on the other hand, is down to 16% (-2), followed by the Greens with 14% (+1), the “Zara Wagenknecht Alliance” (BSW) with 6% (-1) and the Free Democrats (FDP) at the 5% (+1) mark.
