Submission of Tax reduction applications for uninsured homes, for 2025 opens today.
Specifically, the (A.1002/2025) Decision of the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Christos Dimas, sets out the new conditions and procedures for reducing ENFIA for residences of individuals insured against natural disasters.
Specifically, from 2025 and for the following years it applies:
➢ 20% reduction in ENFIA for residences with a taxable value of up to 500,000 euros, provided they are insured for one (1) year against earthquake, fire, and flood.
➢ 10% reduction in ENFIA on residences with a taxable value of more than 500,000 euros, subject to the same insurance conditions.
➢Proportional reduction of ENFIA, in cases of insurance of less than one (1) year and a minimum insurance period of three months.
The procedure for granting the ENFIA reduction is determined as follows:
1. The insurance companies sent to the AADE, by 10/1, the details of the home insurance policies covering earthquake, fire, and flood risks that were in force within 2024.
2. taxpayers can submit applications for the reduction of ENFIA, as well as any amendments or corrections, by 2/14 on the myAADE (myaade.gov.gr) digital portal, by following the route: Apps > Popular Apps > myPROPERTY > Reduction of ENVAT for insured homes.
3. insurance companies confirm the data by 28/2.
4. The ADEA verifies that the conditions for granting the reduction in ENFIA are met, which is granted to beneficiaries with the first central settlement.
It should be noted that, for the convenience of taxpayers, it is possible, in those cases where the relevant information has been sent by their insurance companies, to bring the new application for ENFIA reduction pre-completed, retrieving information from last year’s application, as well as updated information from the insurance companies.
Deputy Minister of Finance, Christos Dimas, said: “We are steadily continuing our policy of reducing ENFIA while providing tax incentives to citizens to insure their homes against natural disasters. The reduction of ENFIA for 2025 is up to 20%.”
The reduction of ENFIA for 2025 is up to 20%.
The Governor of the Hellenic Tax Authority, Giorgos Pitsilis, said: “We are starting the ENFIA reduction process earlier this year than last year, so that, building on the experience of the process first implemented in 2024, we can facilitate taxpayers entitled to the ENFIA reduction. At the same time, in cooperation with insurance companies, we are simplifying the application process by drawing on and updating the data from last year’s applications.”
