The Ministry of Defence and the Federal Armed Forces of Germany are “freezing” their accounts on the “X” platform, as “exchanging arguments there is becoming increasingly difficult.”

As the ministry points out in its statement, from now on, the WhatsApp, Instagram, and YouTube platforms will be used mainly, as well as the website of the ministry and the Bundeswehr. The Ministry of Defence also clarifies that it is not removing its accounts on “X”, but reserves the right in exceptional cases to position itself via “X”, especially in cases of a disinformation campaign.

Among others, 60 universities, trade unions, and the Federal Court of Justice announced their withdrawal from “X”.
