The Metron Analysis poll presented on Mega’s main news bulletin sends messages to both the government and the opposition: In citizen evaluations, the government loses five points in a single month, while the main opposition drops six. The prime minister’s approval rating also sees a six-point decline, but Kyriakos Mitsotakis maintains a 21-point lead in suitability for the premiership. Nikos Androulakis remains in single digits, just one point above Kyriakos Velopoulos, whose party records a gain of over one point in this poll, appearing in third place with 9.8%, slightly below double digits.
In voting intention, ND and PASOK remain steady compared to the previous Metron Analysis poll. The main opposition party shows the highest consolidation rate and again leads the center by six points over the ruling party, which holds a significant lead due to its dominance among center-right and right-wing voters. PASOK leads ND among center-left and left-wing voters, though with low percentages. ND’s lead stands at 11.7 points, down from 11.8 in December’s poll.
Popularity Ratings and Surprises
The significant decline in Nikos Androulakis’ popularity likely reflects the impact of the debate over post-election coalitions that began immediately after Tasoulas’ selection for the presidency of the Republic, causing division within PASOK. A sharp decline was also noted in the popularity of Socrates Famellos, who has lost 11 points since being elected as SYRIZA’s leader.
However, the biggest increase—nearly two points in a single month—was recorded by Aphrodite Latinopoulou’s “Voice of Reason,” which rose from 5.3% to 7.1% and now holds sixth place, one point behind SYRIZA, which remains in fifth, as in December.
A significant drop—nearly three points—was noted for Plefsi Eleftherias, from 7.3% to 4.5%, despite Zoi Konstantopoulou being ranked in the same poll as the most popular political leader, with a 44% approval rating. MeRA25 showed gains, reaching 3.3% in voting intention, while Stefanos Kasselakis’ party barely makes it into Parliament with 3.1%.
