Specifically, as announced by the Hellenic Police (ELAS), in order to thoroughly investigate information regarding the possession and trafficking of narcotics within the prison, an operation was organized by a task force from the Anti-Narcotics Subdivision. The operation was supported by police services from DAOE, the Special Counter-Terrorist Unit (EKAM), and a specially trained police dog.

During the operation, and in the presence of a prosecutor, searches were conducted in 8 cells, where 4 mobile phones, chargers, charging cables, and hands-free devices were found and confiscated. Nineteen inmates were searched, and two of them were found to be in possession of two improvised knives.

A case file has been filed against them for violating the weapons law, which will be submitted to the competent Prosecutorial Authority. The confiscated items will be sent to the Directorate of Forensic Investigations for laboratory analysis.
