The first official visit by an Energy Minister to Saudi Arabia in over 20 years was made (28-29/1) by Thodoros Skylakakis, following the Prime Minister’s recent visit.
In particular, Mr. Skylakakis met with his counterpart, Saudi Arabia’s Energy Minister, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman al Saud, on Tuesday (28/1) in Riyadh.
The meeting was held following the convening of the 1st High Council for Strategic Cooperation between Greece and Saudi Arabia, which took place in Al-Ula (13/1).
During the meeting of the two Ministers, the strategic importance that the two countries attach to the creation of a green energy corridor between Saudi Arabia and Europe, passing through Greece was confirmed.
It was decided to expand the feasibility study, so that along with the electrical interconnection, the possibility of a corresponding Hydrogen (H2) corridor would be considered.
