Ministry of Education: A series of actions for students, teachers and parents on World Safer Internet Day

On 11 February, a series of informative actions are planned in schools by the Directorate of Cybercrime of the ELAS and the Ministry of Education

As part of this year’s celebration of World Safe Navigation Day on the Internet, the Electronic Crime Directorate of the Hellenic Police and the Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports through the Panhellenic School Network, co-organize online briefings for students, teachers, and parents or guardians, on the subject of safe navigation of children on the Internet.

The topics include, among others, prevention and dealing with the risks associated with new technologies, and the pitfalls lurking on social networking sites. Online sexual coercion and blackmail. The phenomenon of cyberbullying. Online games and addiction to them.

More specifically, the actions will be developed at three levels of information.

The first level includes online briefings for students on Friday, February 7 between 10.00 and 11.30 for primary schools and 12.00 to 13.30 for Secondary schools.

The second session includes an online briefing for teachers and parents/guardians, which will take place on Wednesday, 5 February between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm.

Finally, the third session is the face-to-face briefing for teachers on Tuesday, February 11. Specifically, an information event will be held in the morning hours at the Basil and Elise Goulandris Foundation, with prior reservation required.
