Weather Forecast for Today
Most parts of the country will experience unsettled weather today, with disturbances moving eastward, mainly affecting the Cyclades, and gradually extending to the Eastern Aegean and Dodecanese. Despite this, temperatures will remain at seasonally high levels.
The weather will be particularly unstable in the eastern and southeastern regions of the country, including parts of the Aegean islands and eastern Greece.
On Friday a few phenomena initially with gradual improvement and on Saturday almost clear weather. On Sunday the weather will change from noon from the west and on Monday showers or thunderstorms in the west central and north. Tuesday showers in the east and south and snow in the central and northern mountains with a noticeable drop in temperature.”
Showers and thunderstorms yesterday with notable precipitation levels
Showers and thunderstorms occurred across most of the country on Thursday 30/01. According to the network of automatic weather stations of meteo.gr / National Observatory of Athens, the phenomena brought considerable precipitation in the Ionian Sea, the western and southern mainland, and parts of the Aegean.
The map in the following picture shows the distribution of precipitation until 17:40 on Thursday 30/01 and the 8 stations with the highest precipitation. The highest precipitation height was recorded in Paramithia of Thesprotia (44.6 mm), followed by Petaleia of Corfu (43.6 mm) and Zotiko of Ioannina (39.6 mm). As can be seen from the additional information provided in the relevant figure, precipitation (>1 mm) was recorded at 367 of the 528 currently active stations (~69%).

Clouds are expected in places while sporadic showers will occur mainly in the western, southern and northern mainland, in the Ionian Sea, in the eastern parts of the Aegean Sea and in Crete. The phenomena will weaken significantly from midday. Dust concentrations in the atmosphere of the northern continents will be relatively high. Visibility will be limited in places, both in the morning and towards the end of the day.
The temperature in Western Macedonia will range from 1 to 13 degrees Celsius, in the rest of Macedonia and Thrace from 5 to 16, in Thessaly from 5 to 17, in Epirus from 3 to 16, in Western Central Greece from 6 to 15, in the rest of Central Greece from 6 to 18, in the Peloponnese from 6 to 17, in the Ionian Islands from 9 to 16, in the North and East Aegean Islands and the Cyclades from 9 to 16, in the Dodecanese from 10 to 16 and in Crete from 9 to 19 degrees Celsius.

Winds in the Central and North Aegean will blow from southerly directions from 2 to 4 Beaufort, but will gradually shift to northerly winds up to 3 Beaufort. In the South Aegean, the winds will initially blow from westerly directions 3 to 5 Beaufort, but from the afternoon they will shift to northerly 2 to 4 Beaufort. In the Ionian Sea, the winds will blow from northern directions 2 to 4 Beaufort.
In Attic, clouds are expected from time to time. The winds will blow from northwest directions up to 3 Beaufort, but in the afternoon and afternoon, they will become occasionally variable of the same intensity. Visibility will be limited in places, both in the morning and towards the end of the day. The temperature in the center of Athens will range from 10 to 18 degrees Celsius.

The weather on Saturday 01-02-2025
Nearly clear weather with sparse clouds in places and occasionally more dense. Visibility in the morning and evening hours will be limited in places and fog will form on the mainland.
Winds will blow in the west initially from the north 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually becoming southeast, and from the afternoon in the Ionian Sea 5, locally 6 Beaufort. In the east, it will blow from the north 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the Aegean Sea 5 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change significantly. It will reach 15 to 17 degrees Celsius in the north, 17 to 18 degrees Celsius in the rest of the country,y and locally 19 degrees Celsius in the southern islands.
The weather on Sunday 02-02-2025
Clouds are forecast throughout the country, mostly in the west, central and northern parts (except for eastern Macedonia and Thrace). Local showers will occur initially in the Ionian Sea and from the midday hours in the mainland, with sporadic thunderstorms in the northwest. A little snow will fall in the northwestern mountains from the evening hours. Visibility in the morning hours on the mainland will be limited in places.
Winds will blow in the west from southern directions 4 to 5 and in the Ionian Sea 6 to 7 Beaufort with weakening from the evening. In the east, winds will initially blow from northerly directions 3 to 4 Beaufort, and in the northern Aegean east northeasterly 4 to 5 and occasionally locally 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop mainly in the east and north.
The weather on Monday 03-02-2025
Cloudy weather with showers and occasional thunderstorms are forecast throughout the country, initially in the west, central, and north (except for eastern Macedonia and Thrace). Gradually the phenomena will extend to the rest of the regions. Gradual improvement is expected from midday in the north and from the afternoon in the west. A little snow will fall in the central and northern mountains.
Winds will initially blow from southerly directions 3 to 5, while in the northern Aegean from northerly directions with the same intensity. Gradually from noon, they will turn throughout the country to northerly directions, in the west 4 to 5, in the east 4 to ,6 and from the evening in the northern Aegean locally 7 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly.
