A special program for subsidizing businesses, amounting to €10,726,800.00, aimed at employing the unemployed in areas affected by de-lignification, with the goal of creating 1,000 new full-time jobs, has been launched following cooperation between Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Niki Kerameos, and Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis.
The goal of the initiative is the employment of the unemployed, registered in the unemployment registry of the D.Y.P.A, by businesses in areas covered by the Territorial Plans for the Fair Transition of the Western Macedonia and Megalopolis regions, as well as the neighboring municipalities of Tripoli, Oichalia, and Gortynia. The subsidy per job position, depending on the category of the unemployed person, covers a percentage ranging from 70% to 100%. The initiative targets private businesses and employers in the private sector that conduct regular economic activity and operate in the aforementioned eligible areas.
This specific initiative is part of the “Fair Development Transition” Program 2021-2027 and particularly falls under Priority 4 – “Fair Labour Transition.” The implementation of the project will be achieved through the upcoming Public Invitation from the Public Employment Service (D.Y.P.A) to private businesses for submitting funding applications.
