U.S. President Donald Trump has revoked clearance to handle material classified as confidential or top secret held by Anthony Blinken and Jake Sullivan.
The move follows the Republican’s decision the day before to strip the Democratic former president Joe Biden of his clearance to handle classified information and the daily briefings he received from intelligence agencies. It’s a practice that allows former heads of state to remain in the loop on sensitive issues.
President Trump also revoked the clearance held by former Deputy Attorney General Lisa Monaco – who played a key role in coordinating State’s response after Capitol Hill incident on 6 January 2021, according to the same sources.
It also revoked the licenses held by New York City Attorney General Leticia James and Manhattan Attorney General Alvin Bragg. Both judges, who are Democrats, handled cases against the POTUS.
