Panathinaikos‘ European journey continues in Helsinki, where the “Greens” face Icelandic side Vikingur tonight (19:45, CosmoteSport 4, ANT1) in the Conference League knockout stage. The team traveled to Finland aiming to lay a solid foundation for qualification to the Round of 16—or even secure a significant advantage in this first leg.
The match will take place on Finnish soil because neither Vikingur’s stadium nor any other venue in Iceland met the requirements to host a game at this stage of the competition.
Notably, Panathinaikos will have to adapt to freezing conditions, with temperatures expected to be around -7°C at kickoff.
Head coach Rui Vitória faces several absences, as players Jedvaj, Pellistri, Vagiannidis, Unai, Arao, and Dragowski remained in Athens due to injuries.
Panathinaikos’ squad:
Lodigin, Lillo, Max, Mladenovic, Kotsiras, Ingason, Palmer-Brown, Cerin, Bakasetas, Maximovic, Tete, Djuricic, Mancini, Ioannidis, Geremeyev, Swiderski, Siopis, Dambizas, Fikai, Bregu.
