The budget showed an increased primary surplus of 1.8 billion euros on a cash basis in January 2025, up from 945 million euros last year.
As announced by the Bank of Greece, the central government’s cash balance showed a surplus of 560 million euros in January, compared to a deficit of 239 million euros in the same month in 2024.
In the month, revenue from the regular budget stood at €5.698 billion, up from €5.091 billion last year.
As for the expenditure of the regular budget, it stood at €5.488 billion, up from €4.799 billion in January 2024.
