Police officer arrested for driving a stolen car

The policeman will be brought before the prosecutor

A police officer was spotted driving a car, for which a theft had been reported.

According to an announcement from the Hellenic Police Headquarters, the police officer arrested on Tuesday night is being taken to the prosecutor’s office while the process for disciplinary investigation of the case has begun.

A detailed statement from the ELAS:

“A case was formed by the Department of Crime Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes in Varis, Voula, and Vouliagmeni against a police officer, who is accused of receiving and disposing of the products of crime.

In particular, the accused was spotted in the evening hours yesterday (25-02-2025) by police officers of the O.E.P.T.A. driving a car, for which theft had been reported.

At the expense of the arrested person, who is being taken to the competent Public Prosecutor, traffic offences were also ascertained and the procedure for the disciplinary investigation of the case is being initiated.”
