Russia described the talks held in Istanbul between Russian and American officials as “substantive and professional”, revealing some details of the discussions.
According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the meeting lasted six hours and focused primarily on the operation of diplomatic missions in Moscow and Washington. Both sides agreed to take measures to ensure the “uninterrupted financing and smooth functioning” of their embassies.
Additionally, the meeting addressed issues related to what Moscow considers the illegal seizure of Russian diplomatic property in the United States. At the same time, Russia requested that Washington consider restoring direct air connections between the two countries.
