Egyptian Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelati said the plan to rebuild Gaza that ensures that Palestinians will remain in their lands has been drawn up and will be presented at the extraordinary Arab conference to be held on March 4.
The Egyptian plan, will not be purely Egyptian or Arab, but will gain international support and financing to ensure its successful implementation.
“We will hold intensive talks with major donor countries once the plan is approved at the upcoming Arab summit,” Abdelati said at a press conference with the European Union’s Commissioner for the Mediterranean.
The Arab states, which had rejected Donald Trump‘s plan for the US to take control of Gaza and resettle Palestinians, are trying to agree on a diplomatic solution.
Trump’s plan, announced on February 4 during a fragile ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, has angered Palestinians and Arab countries and upended decades of US diplomacy focused on a two-state solution.
