“The security of the European continent cannot be limited to its eastern borders,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis said, speaking at the EU summit in Brussels on European defence and the Ukraine- Russia war.
Kyriakos Mitsotakis, referring implicitly but clearly to Turkey’s revisionist policy, stressed during his intervention that “security threats also exist in the Western Balkans, the Eastern and Southern Mediterranean, and the Middle East.”
Specifically, Mitsotakis stressed that “the security of the European continent must be considered as a whole. He stressed that it cannot be limited to Europe’s eastern borders, as there are security threats also in the Western Balkans, the Eastern and Southern Mediterranean, and the Middle East.”
