Spring-like weather is settling in as temperatures continue their upward trend, bringing mild and pleasant conditions across the country

Newsroom March 7 06:56

According to the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY), Friday will see highs reaching up to 20°C in mainland regions, with a further slight increase expected over the weekend. While some cloud cover will develop in the afternoon, no rainfall is anticipated, making for an overall fair-weather pattern.

Friday’s Forecast (March 7, 2025)

The day will begin with clear skies nationwide, but from midday onward, scattered clouds will develop in the Ionian, later spreading to western mainland Greece and Crete. Winds will ease over the mainland, though in the Aegean, gusts could still reach 6 Beaufort locally.

  • Thessaloniki: Predominantly clear skies with light variable winds up to 3 Bft. Temperature range: 4°C – 18°C.
  • Macedonia & Thrace: Mostly sunny with some high clouds developing later, particularly in western areas. Light variable winds, up to 5 Bft in the Thracian Sea. Temperatures between 1°C – 20°C, cooler in western Macedonia.
  • Ionian Islands, Epirus, Western Greece: Sunshine dominates, with some passing clouds later in the day. Light variable winds (2-3 Bft). Temperatures between 6°C – 21°C, with cooler lows in Epirus.
  • Aegean Islands, Crete: Clear skies, though western Crete may see increased clouds in the afternoon. North winds 4-6 Bft. Temperatures between 10°C – 20°C.
  • Dodecanese & Eastern Aegean: Generally fair weather. North-northeasterly winds 5-6 Bft in the north, northwesterlies 4-5 Bft in the south. Temperatures between 14°C – 21°C.

Weekend Outlook (March 8-9, 2025)

The weekend continues the warm trend, though Saturday may bring some thicker cloud cover at times, mainly in the Ionian, western Greece, and Crete. Winds will be mostly mild (2-4 Bft), with stronger gusts in the Aegean.
