The importance of inclusion
“ESTIA Agios Nikolaos” has been operating for 32 years as a community of adults with and without developmental disabilities, emphasizing equal inclusion, outreach, and collective governance.
With the same philosophy, the Fest seeks to highlight the value of social cohesion and volunteerism, acting as a meeting point for people from different backgrounds.
The 1st Festival of Culture and Sports “Together in Celebration” is under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Cohesion & Family and supported by the Region of Sterea Ellada, in the framework of the Awareness Week “All Together, All Equal” of the “Bridge” structure. “An opportunity to celebrate equality and solidarity”
The President of Hestia Agios Nikolaos, Ms. Giovana Kabouri, said:
“The Festival is an opportunity for all of us TOGETHER – government agencies, non-profit organizations, professionals and active citizens – to celebrate unity and solidarity by running, creating, learning and having fun together.
Volunteerism is at the heart of ESTIAS, and the same is true for the Festival, in which over 40 clubs and groups from Fokida and other regions are already participating.”
The Mayor of Delphi, Mr. Panagiotis Tagalis, noted:
“ESTIA Agios Nikolaos may have its roots in Galaxidi, but its work and the message it sends out go beyond the borders of the region.
We join forces and invite all of us TOGETHER to a real celebration of life”.
The Regional Governor of Central Greece, Mr. Fanis Spanos, stressed:
“We support the 1st Culture & Sports Festival of the award-winning community “Hestia Agios Nikolaos’, including it in the Awareness Week “All Together – All Equal”.
Through the “Bridge” model structure, we provide solutions and implement policies that support our fellow citizens with disabilities.”
