In an emotionally charged post, Sakis Lyngeridis, father of 31-year-old police officer Giorgos Lyngeridis, along with his wife and daughter, demands justice for their tragically lost son, showcasing the dignity and patience the family has consistently displayed since Giorgos was fatally struck by a marine flare.
Mr. Sakis Lyngeridis, who closely follows every court session regarding the trial of the alleged perpetrator of his son’s murder, openly addresses the criminal organization behind the tragedy, and the individuals who directly or indirectly orchestrated and systematically encouraged the violence that culminated in the death of Giorgos Lyngeridis on December 7, 2023.
The grieving father painfully observes that no one takes to the streets demanding justice for his son; no one reacts to potential cover-ups, no one shouts “murderer” outside a major municipality, and nobody calls for resignations, as occurred with the Tempi tragedy. He emphasizes that there are more than sufficient indications showing that “a powerful economic figure, in collaboration with a mayor of a major city, protected, covered, and funded a gang of thugs who operated as a criminal organization, inciting violent incidents culminating in the murder of a young man.” He bitterly concludes that his son, for whom no one reacts or protests, was merely “a cop.”
Mr. Lyngeridis explicitly references the prosecutor’s recommendation to prosecute Olympiacos president Vangelis Marinakis, Piraeus mayor Giannis Moralis, and Marinakis’s three close associates: K. Karapapas, Mich. Kountouris, and G. Agrafiotis. Giorgos Lyngeridis’s parents had also shared the protothema.gr report on their Facebook profiles, with his mother demanding “justice for all.”
In his emotional outburst, Mr. Sakis Lyngeridis underscores that only the judiciary can determine the veracity of allegations made in the prosecutor’s recommendation. Nevertheless, he expresses frustration that no public figures, such as Zoe Konstantopoulou or other prominent voices, stand against possible cover-ups or show support for their family, nor do television commentators shed tears on camera for Giorgos, condemning the criminals.
Mr. Lyngeridis’s message, shared with his wife and daughter, is deeply impactful, highlighting his initial acknowledgment that Greece has justice, contrasting sharply with his closing statement, suggesting public indifference might be because his son was simply a policeman.

He was simply a cop… Thousands took to the streets demanding justice. Don’t we have justice? Obviously, we do, and we have worthy judges as well…
However, it’s natural for citizens of any country to believe that prominent figures receive preferential treatment, whether they are politicians or financially influential citizens…
Thus, people want assurance that those, for instance, failing to fulfill a contract timely will be held accountable…
So far, so good…
Yet, we experience something paradoxical. Apparently, there are more than sufficient indications that a powerful economic figure, in collaboration with a mayor of a major city, protected, covered, and funded a gang of thugs operating as a criminal organization, inciting violent incidents leading to the murder of a young man…
The mayor allegedly participated in funding these idle thugs using taxpayer money…!!!!
Is this true? Only justice can confirm it. Is there a risk they might escape justice due to their prominence? According to concerned citizens’ fears, yes…
Nevertheless, nobody tries to prevent a potential cover-up. Nobody protests to ensure justice is served if indications become proof. Nobody gathers outside the municipality shouting “murderer” demanding the mayor’s resignation before his term ends…
No political party issues statements, no Mrs. Konstantopoulou raises her fist shouting “no cover-up,” no Mrs. Karystianou embraces the mother of the murdered young man…!!!
No TV comedian sheds tears on camera for the victim, condemning “criminals,” nor addresses live audiences, guided by animators, discussing a mafia-like crime…
Strange things…!!!
Have they not heard? Were they too busy watching “Holy Love” on TV? Were political parties preoccupied with Mr. Triantopoulos’s court route and had no time???
Was Mrs. Konstantopoulou not informed by Mr. Bibilas? Did Mrs. Karystianou file complaint No. 7,365 and forget? Did comedians suddenly lose their sense of humor???
Is the money too significant?
I don’t believe it…
Maybe the victim was just a cop…
