From Tuesday, April 1st, property owners are required to clean their land plots and subsequently submit a declaration via the designated gov.gr platform.
Failure to comply will result in penalties. Specifically:
- Not submitting a cleaning declaration to the National Registry will incur a €1,000 fine for the property owner.
- False declarations regarding compliance may result in up to 2 years of imprisonment and a fine of up to €54,000.
If a landowner fails to clean their plot, the municipal authorities will intervene and carry out the cleaning at the owner’s expense.
With the fire season approaching, the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection aims to complete all necessary procedures within April.
