In the same pattern as the previous days, with cloudy skies with showers and thunderstorms in places, the weather will be the same across Greece today (Thursday).
Showers and thunderstorms will be locally heavy in the Ionian Sea, Epirus and western Central Greece until noon, according to the EMY forecast, while in Thessaly in the afternoon and in central Macedonia from the afternoon onwards.
The temperature will be at the same level as yesterday, with a maximum of 20-22 degrees in most areas, but 25-26 degrees in Crete and the Dodecanese.
In Attica, we expect occasionally increased winds. Local showers will occur from midday, while in the afternoon there is a possibility of isolated thunderstorms of short duration.
The temperature will range from 12 to 20 degrees Celsius.
In Thessaloniki we expect clouds at times with local showers and from the afternoon sporadic thunderstorms. The phenomena from the evening hours will be intense in places. The temperature will range from 10 to 18 degrees Celsius.
The forecast for Thursday
Across the country, the weather will be cloudy, partly cloudy with local rain. Thunderstorms will occur in most parts of the mainland and the phenomena mainly in the west and north will be intense in places.
African dust is favoured in the east and south.
Locally limited visibility and possibly localized fog in the morning and evening hours on the mainland.
Winds will initially blow southeast 3 to 5 and in the sea locally 6 to 7 Beaufort, gradually in the Ionian Sea and the mainland will shift to westerly 3 to 5 and in the south locally 6 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly mainly in the west. It will reach in most areas 20 to 22 degrees Celsius and in northern Crete locally 26 degrees Celsius.
The weather on Friday
In central and eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the northern Aegean islands, cloudy with showers and occasional thunderstorms, mainly until noon. In the western part of the country a few localised showers, quickly intensifying and thunderstorms. In the rest of the country, partly cloudy with showers from noon on the mainland and western Crete. The phenomena at the beginning of the day in eastern Macedonia and Thrace and from the afternoon hours in the western and southern Peloponnese are likely to be occasionally intense. A little snow will fall in the continental mountains.
African dust is favoured in the morning hours in eastern Macedonia, Thrace and the eastern Aegean.
Winds will be variable 2 to 4 and only in the south will be westerly 5 to 6 and occasionally 7 Beaufort.
The temperature will drop slightly. It will reach in the west 16 to 17 degrees Celsius, in the east 18 to 19 and locally mainly in the south 20 degrees Celsius.
Weather at the weekend
On Saturday we expect across the country intermittent clouds with local rain or rain. Thunderstorms are expected in the Aegean Sea and in the afternoon in the mainland. The phenomena in the eastern parts of the Aegean (from Samos and further south) and in western and central Crete are likely to be locally intense. A little snow will fall in the continental mountains.
Winds in the southern part of the country will be westerly 5 to 6 Beaufort and in the eastern parts of the Aegean Sea southerly with the same intensity, while in the remaining areas they will be variable 3 to 4 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly.
On Sunday, across the country, intermittently increasing clouds with local rain or rain. Thunderstorms are expected mainly in the southeastern parts of the Aegean (from Samos and further south) and in the afternoon in the mainland. Gradual improvement is expected in the west from the afternoon hours. A little snow will fall in the continental mountains.
African dust is favoured in the south.
Winds will blow south southwest 3 to 5 Beaufort. The temperature will not change significantly.
