An operation by the Internal Affairs Division of the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.) is currently underway in Thessaloniki, starting on the morning of Monday (April 7), concerning a bribery and corruption case reportedly involving mortuary workers and forensic doctors.
According to protothema.gr, officers from the Internal Affairs unit have so far made two arrests. The individuals are facing charges of accepting and offering bribes. Further details about the case have not yet been released.
Specifically, it has been reported that a mortuary worker and an employee of a funeral home have been taken into custody.
Moreover, according to well-informed sources, additional arrests may be made by the end of the day, as the case is being treated as serious.
