French President Emmanuel Macron announced today that his country could recognize a Palestinian state “in June” on the occasion of a conference he will co-chair with Saudi Arabia in New York.
“We have to move towards recognition and therefore, in the coming months we will do it,” he said in an interview with France 5 television, broadcast today. “Our goal is sometime in June, when with Saudi Arabia we will chair this conference (on Palestine) where we could finalize this movement of mutual recognition by many,” he added.
