Prevolaraki: won gold at the European Wrestling Championship in Bratislava

Maria Prevolaraki made history in Bratislava, winning the gold medal in the 53kg category at her fifth appearance in a European Wrestling Championship final, bringing her total number of medals in the competition to nine

In Bratislava, the 33-year-old Greek wrestler achieved what she had been striving for in her remarkable career: the gold medal at a European Wrestling Championship.

In her fifth appearance in the final of the tournament, she triumphed at the top of Europe in the 53kg category, defeating Romania’s Andrea Beatrice Ana 5-3 to claim the gold medal.

For Prevolaraki, this is her 9th medal in the history of the event. In addition to these, she has also won three bronze medals at World Championships and several gold medals at the Mediterranean Games, creating a beautiful collection of medals, all in the 53kg category.
