Euroleague: Panathinaikos to face Efes in the playoffs – Olympiacos’ possible opponents on the road to the Final Four

Olympiacos, as the top seed, are waiting for their opponent from the play-in process, while Panathinaikos will face Ataman’s former...beloved team, in the 3rd vs. 6th matchup – The dates and times of the games

Newsroom April 12 08:01

Efes and Panathinaikos did their duty with home wins in the final round of the EuroLeague.
The “Greens” had to overcome Red Star in overtime (111–104), although they already knew they would finish in 3rd place. Shortly afterward, Barcelona followed, with the top six and the play-in matchups taking shape.

After the end of Round 34, the final Top 10 of the EuroLeague has now been confirmed, and the first two playoff matchups are set.

Panathinaikos will face Efes in the 3rd vs. 6th matchup, while Monaco will have home-court advantage against Barcelona.

As for Olympiacos, they’ll have to wait for the outcome of the play-in games. Real Madrid, Paris, Bayern, and Red Star are the teams involved in the Play-In process, meaning Giorgos Bartzokas’ team will face one of them on their way to the Final Four in Abu Dhabi.

Real will host Paris in Madrid, while Bayern will welcome Red Star in Munich, with both games scheduled for Holy Tuesday (April 15). The winner of the Spain match will take 7th place and face Fenerbahce in the playoffs, while the loser will play the winner of the other match on Holy Friday (April 18).
The team that survives that game will be the one to face Olympiacos.

Olympiacos, having finished first in the regular season, will have home-court advantage, but—as you might have guessed—they’ll be the last to know their opponent in the next stage, having to wait until Holy Friday (April 18) to begin their scouting.
