Donald Trump, who at age 78 is the oldest president ever elected in the US and was criticized during his first term in the White House for a lack of transparency about his health, asserted yesterday Friday that he is in “excellent health” after annual medical checkup he underwent.
“Overall, I felt I was in very good shape. A good heart, a good soul, a very good soul,” Trump told reporters accompanying him on the presidential aircraft (Air Force One) during the flight from Washington to Florida.
As part of a scheduled checkup that he underwent at Walter Reed Military Hospital, Trump said that in addition to the cardiac exam, he also underwent a cognitive test because he is “different from Biden.”
During the campaign, Donald Trump repeatedly challenged Joe Biden to undergo a cognitive evaluation, questioning his cognitive status.
“I don’t know what to tell you, other than I got all the right answers,” Trump told reporters,
Donald Trump does not drink alcoholic beverages and does not smoke, but he has made no secret that he consumes soft drinks and is a fast-food enthusiast.
He has been criticized by opponents for a lack of transparency about his health, particularly when he was hospitalized for several days with Covid-19 in the final months of his first term in the White House.
His former personal physician Harold Bornstein claimed in 2018 that Trump had dictated an opinion of excellent health to him in December 2015.
