U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said today in an interview on the ABC television network and “This Week” that smart phones, computers, and some other electronic devices will be included in a separate level of tariffs, along with semiconductors (chips).

These tariffs may be imposed after about a month.

President Donald Trump‘s administration late Friday night exempted these products from the high tariffs, and they, in large part, are imported from China, making it much easier for tech companies like, Apple that rely on imported products.
