A video clearly showing the movements of the two perpetrators who planted a bomb outside the offices of Hellenic Train on Friday night is now in the hands of the police.
Using the available footage, EL.AS (the Hellenic Police) investigators are attempting to trace the movements of members of the group Revolutionary Class Self-Defense, which has claimed responsibility for the bombing.

According to police officers’ assessments, this particular group, which is relatively new, is trying to establish itself in the sphere of urban guerrilla activity. It is also possible that some of its members may be in contact with individuals previously known to law enforcement and the judiciary.
As police spokesperson Konstantia Dimoglidou noted on Monday regarding the explosion, although the explosive device used at Hellenic Train “was of lower power compared to others in the past, if the area hadn’t been evacuated and someone had been nearby, they could have been injured. Fortunately, the officers quickly recognized the presence of an explosive and evacuated a hotel next to the company.”
At the same time, police sources indicate that ongoing analysis of surveillance footage from the surrounding area has led authorities to narrow in on at least two suspects. One of them did not conceal his facial features. The individual whom officers believe is the main suspect for placing the backpack with the bomb outside the Hellenic Train offices can be seen walking calmly down Syngrou Avenue and placing the backpack next to a pole, as captured in a key video.
He is wearing a hooded sweatshirt and has lifted his shirt to cover his mouth and part of his face. According to information from protothema.gr, police are analyzing the footage down to the suspect’s walking style and estimate his age to be around 30 years old.
