France: Macron welcomes Rubio and Witkoff, Ukraine war at the center of talks

The French President had previously held a phone call with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, the Élysée Palace announced

French President Emmanuel Macron has begun a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Steve Witkoff, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump, to discuss the war in Ukraine, according to the Agence France-Presse (AFP).

Prior to this, Macron held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, the Élysée stated.

The meeting comes six days after Witkoff’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
