Supermarket opening hours today (18/4) – What applies to stores on Good Friday

Good Friday is a compulsory half-holiday for shops, while on Good Saturday trade is open for limited hours

With Easter just around the corner, people have the last few days to stock up on what they need for the holiday table. In supermarkets for today, special opening hours are in effect, as Good Friday is a compulsory half-holiday for stores, while on Good Saturday the trade is also open for limited hours.

In more detail, for today, Good Friday:

Stores open after the Deposition at 1:00 p.m. and close at 7:00 p.m.

The supermarkets

The supermarkets also all open at 13:00, but do not close at the same time. Some close from 19:00 and others stay open until 20:00 or even 21:00 in the evening.

Based on what they have announced on their pages, they have the following hours:

Sklavenitis: 13:00 – 20:00
AB Vassilopoulos: 13:00-20:00
My Market: 13:00 – 20:00
Lidl: 13:00 – 21:00
Masoutis: 13:00 – 19:00
Galaxy: 13:00 – 20:00
Kritikos: 13:00 – 20:00

Good Saturday

Shoppers have the opportunity for last-minute shopping on Big Saturday as well.

Stores are open from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

AB Vassilopoulos: 08:00 – 18:00
My Market: 08:00 – 20:00
Lidl: 07:45-21:00
Masoutis: 08:00 – 20:00
Kritikos: 08:00 – 20:00

The festive timetable for Easter 2025 has been in force since last Saturday.

The Commercial Association of Athens proposes the following opening hours for shops:

G. Friday 18/04/2025 13.00 – 19.00
G. Saturday 19/04/2025 09.00 – 15.00
Easter 20/04/2025 Holiday
Monday 21/04/2025 Holiday
