Famous Syrian entrepreneur and Philhellene Nawaf Salameh passes away

He was planning to establish an ethanol production facility in Kavala – His family shared the news of his death on social media

Nawaf Salameh, the well-known Syrian doctor and Philhellene, has suddenly passed away.

He was particularly recognized for his love for Greece and for Alexander the Great, and in recent years, his plans for the first production facility for agricultural origin ethyl alcohol (pure ethanol) in Kavala had come to light.

According to kavalanews.gr, the industry aimed to produce about 30 million liters annually and would create more than 100 jobs. The investment for the first phase was expected to exceed 35 million euros, while over a ten-year horizon, the total investments of the Alexandrion group would surpass 100 million euros.

The group founded by the Syrian doctor is based in Romania and is the largest producer of wines and alcoholic beverages in the country.

His family announced the news of his death on social media.
