What charges are the six arrestees facing?
The Athens Public Prosecutor’s Office has proceeded with criminal charges against the six individuals arrested for the attack at the Athens Law School and the injury of a doctoral student on April 30, 2025.
Specifically, the charges include: serious intentional bodily harm (a felony), formation of a criminal organization, disruption of a public service, illegal violence, damage to property used for public benefit, disobedience, carrying and possession of weapons, and refusal to undergo forensic examination.

Additionally, the prosecutor has filed charges for the misdemeanor of harboring a criminal against one suspect who has not yet been arrested.
It is noteworthy that the case file includes three other suspects who have not yet been identified. After the charges were filed against the six, they were referred to a prosecutor for investigation, who will request and grant them a deadline to prepare their defenses.
The 25-year-old coordinator, four students, and the 29-year-old doctor involved in the escape
The ages of the six arrested for the attack at the Law School range from 19 to 31 years.
Four of the arrestees identified themselves as students, while the 25-year-old, who played a central role in carrying out the attack, obstructed the investigation at his residence.

According to the police announcement, the 25-year-old was the “leader” of the group as he “led the attackers and served as an observer, providing informational cover at each stage of the attack. Additionally, he scouted the area at various times, coordinated and facilitated the escape of other members, and was responsible for external surveillance of the area.”
The case file also includes three other individuals who have not yet been identified, one of whom purchased surgical masks for the group members involved in the attack.
Among those arrested is a 29-year-old doctor who helped a 22-year-old member of the group escape after the assault.
The six individuals face charges for—depending on the case—criminal organization (gang), composed of people organized with the aim of jointly, intentionally, and with common purpose committing felonies and misdemeanors aimed at harming life, bodily integrity, property, or assets; disrupting official functions; severe bodily harm; illegal violence; insult; and damage to property placed in public spaces and serving the public interest, without the victim’s provocation, along with violations of weapons legislation and disobedience.
Police announcement regarding the arrests related to the attack at the Law School
The Anti-Racism and Extreme Violence Sub-Directorate of the Attica Crimes Division arrested yesterday, Tuesday, May 13, 2025, six individuals aged 19, 22, 23, 25, and 31, whose participation was identified in the attack that took place on April 30, 2025, in a hall of the Law School building of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens during a scheduled event, which resulted in an injury to a person present.
Charges have been filed against them for—depending on the case—criminal organization (gang) formed by individuals organized for the joint, consensual, and purposeful commission of felonies and misdemeanors aimed at harming life, bodily integrity, property, or assets; disrupting official functions; severe bodily harm; illegal violence; insult; and damage to property placed in public spaces and serving the public interest, without the victim’s provocation, along with violations of weapons legislation and disobedience.
The case file also includes an additional three individuals whose details have not yet been identified, as well as a 29-year-old woman accused of harboring and obstructing justice.
During the investigation, based on collected information, data, and witness testimonies, it was established that the suspects formed and joined a structured criminal organization, which operated following detailed planning of actions and role assignments among its members, aiming to commit felonies and misdemeanors, specifically severe bodily harm and disruption of service, illegal violence, and causing damages within the university premises.
The roles of the members of the organization are as follows:
- A 25-year-old, who played a central role in the organization (gang), leading the group of attackers and acting as an observer, providing informational coverage at each stage of the attack. He also scouted the area at different times, coordinated and facilitated the escape of other members, and was responsible for external surveillance.
- Another individual, whose details are still to be identified, supplied other members with surgical masks, purchased during her approach to the university premises, to be used jointly with the 25-year-old during the act and thereby hinder identification by authorities.
- The other defendants were part of the operational wing of the organization, actively participating in the attack as direct perpetrators. The 29-year-old woman assisted in the escape of a 22-year-old member by driving a vehicle.
Searches conducted at residences, vehicles, and locations, as well as possession of the suspects, yielded and confiscated:
- Clothing
- 5 anti-fog masks
- Stickers, flyers, books, stickers, and printed materials with anarchist content
- 17 mobile devices
