Zelensky insists Trump needs to be in Turkey
Earlier, the Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky had invited Donald Trump to go to Istanbul tomorrow, as he believes it will help get Vladimir Putin to accept his offer to meet one-on-one to negotiate an end to the war.
For now, the Ukrainian president is accusing his Russian counterpart of “not wanting” to end the war, but has pledged to “do everything” to hold that top-level meeting tomorrow.
“If (US President Trump) confirms his participation, I believe this will give Putin an additional incentive to come,” Zelensky said from Kiev yesterday, Tuesday, evening.
