Among the Greek islands with the most beautiful and cleanest beaches, Samos stands out — particularly Potami Beach — as featured in a list published by Travel & Leisure. According to the American travel site, “Potami Beach is nestled within a lush landscape and the welcoming blue waters of the Mediterranean, offering moments of pure relaxation.” The article also notes that this popular beach will make a stronger entrance onto the global tourism map this year, as it will now be officially awarded a Blue Flag.
The UK’s Express.co.uk also highlights the natural beauty of the island of Pythagoras, calling it a “paradise on earth” full of historical landmarks to explore, picturesque villages, captivating beaches, and opportunities for nature escapes. The British outlet makes special mention of the new direct flight connections from the UK via Jet2, which are set to begin in 2026.
“Since last November, we launched a systematic effort in London to raise awareness in anticipation of new flights,” noted Vangelis Marnezos, Deputy Mayor of Tourism for Western Samos. “The response from travel industry players like Jet2 Holidays to expand into new markets demonstrates Samos’ strong potential to meet the preferences of a wide range of travelers.”
Following a scheduled meeting at ITB Berlin, the major international travel platform Orbitapopular.com singled out Samos’ presence at the world’s largest tourism fair, praising the island over other European destinations. The platform emphasized:
“All along Samos’ coast, you’ll find unique beaches, whether pebble or sandy, with crystal-clear waters. The island stands out as the birthplace of great figures such as the ancient philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras, who is considered the founder of modern mathematical thought and music theory. Samos is a secret worth discovering.”
