A French captain, aged 81, and the only passenger aboard a sailboat, was found dead on Sunday afternoon inside the cabin of his vessel, which was docked at the small port near the Corinth Canal in Isthmia.
The man was discovered by officers of the Isthmia Port Authority, lying unconscious inside the cabin. He was transported by ambulance to the General Hospital of Corinth, where his death was confirmed.
A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the 2nd Port Department of Isthmia of the Corinth Port Authority, and an autopsy has been ordered.
