A police operation was carried out on Monday morning (2/6) in Megara, Attica, by the Sub-Directorate for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Goods of the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime, to investigate information about the storage and trafficking of weapons.
The operation was carried out with the assistance of two judicial officers and the participation of police forces from the Sub-Directorate for Information and Special Operations, the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution and Investigation of Crimes against Life and Property, the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution of Narcotics and the Sub-Directorate for the Prosecution of Economic Crimes, as well as the Sub-Directorate for the Restoration of Order of the Attica Police Operations Directorate.
In this context, targeted searches were carried out in 6 houses and 3 auxiliary – storage areas, located in the area, while at the same time police checks were carried out on a number of people and vehicles.
During the investigations, a 23-year-old domestic woman was arrested, against whom a case file was formed for violation of the legislation on weapons and receiving and disposing of the products of crime, while her co-defendant is a 24-year-old domestic man.


All in all, the following were found and seized:
– a firearm with a barrel length of 17 cm,
– 3 magazines,
– 116 cartridges,
– a military-type bayonet, with a total length of 28.5 cm and a total blade length of 17 cm,
– 57 pieces of gold-coloured jewellery (chains and necklaces with pendants, rings, rings, earrings (in pairs), bracelets)
– 8 mobile phones,
– a closed-circuit television recorder and 7 cameras; and
– the sum of six hundred 675 euros.
The arrested person was taken to the competent prosecuting authority.
