Trump stopped the protests in Los Angeles with the National Guard: “We will not tolerate leftist marches, the mayor is incompetent (updated)

The National Guard did its job — no more masks at protests ever again," said Trump about the unrest. The protesters are demonstrating against the arrests of undocumented immigrants

Newsroom June 8 08:34

Donald Trump praised the actions of the National Guard in Los Angeles for containing the clashes that broke out between federal agents and protesters, in a new post on the platform Truth Social. The former president once again criticized both the governor and the mayor of L.A. for how they handled the unrest, making it clear that his administration will no longer tolerate “radical Left protests.”

The protesters are demonstrating against the arrests of undocumented immigrants.

In his Truth Social post, Trump wrote:
“Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes, and chaos. We have an incompetent Governor (Newscum) and an incompetent Mayor (Bass) who, as always (just look at how they handled the wildfires, and now the VERY SLOW response to preventing the destruction — federal intervention has done the job!), proved incapable of managing the situation. These radical left-wing protests, with agitators and often paid rioters, WILL NOT BE TOLERATED. Also, from now on, MASKS WILL NOT BE ALLOWED at protests. What are these people hiding, and why??? Again, thank you to the National Guard for their outstanding work!”

“We will identify you and we will catch you!”

Amid ongoing protests and unrest in Southern California, the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California, Bill Esali, warned just hours earlier that protesters who incite violence will be identified using security cameras placed throughout the city and prosecuted at the federal level.

“We will focus on the organizers,” Esali told local station KCBS/KCAL in an interview, adding that, in his assessment, the protests are part of a “highly organized and tightly coordinated” movement.

The federal prosecutor made a clear distinction between the right to peaceful protest and acts of violence, stressing that anyone throwing Molotov cocktails or stones, or injuring police officers, will face federal charges.
“We will identify you, we will find you, and we will arrest you,” he emphasized.

Esali defended Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard, stating that California Governor Gavin Newsom “can’t control his state.”

US President Donald Trump has ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard members to Los Angeles after riots broke out during protests against the mass arrests of illegal immigrants, with White House spokeswoman Caroline Levitt harshly criticizing “incompetent” California authorities.

California’s Democratic governor, Gavin Newsom
called the decision “deliberately inflammatory.”

Making a pun on Newsom’s last name (Newsom), whom he called Newscum (Newscum = loosely translated: new trash/scum), President Trump wrote in a post on the Truth Social platform: “If California Governor Gavin Newscum and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass can’t do their jobs – and everyone knows they can’t – then the federal government will step in and solve the riot and looters problem the way it should be solved.”

More than 40 people were arrested yesterday (Saturday) in Los Angeles for opposing members of the federal immigration agency (ICE) that has been sweeping the US for weeks to track and arrest illegal immigrants as part of an operation ordered by President Donald Trump.

“There have already been several arrests for obstructing our operations, FBI Assistant Director Dan Bodzino wrote in a post on the X platform.“There will be several more to come. We are combing through the videos to identify the perpetrators. You bring chaos, we bring handcuffs,”he added.

ICE officers gathered this morning in the suburb of Paramount, where several members of the Hispanic community reside, near a Home Depot store, where unskilled workers typically seek a living wage by offering their services. It is unclear whether ICE agents were preparing to arrest illegal immigrants or were gathered there to prepare for an operation.

When their presence was noticed, tensions flared and the sheriff’s office said it deployed officers to restore order. Protesters threw objects at the officers and attempted to block a bus from leaving the area. Police officers pushed back the gathered crowd with tear gas and flash-bang grenades.

A few hours later, the streets were littered with debris and overturned shopping carts, as seen in footage broadcast by television networks, which also reported that some protesters set an American flag on fire.

Similar incidents had also occurred on Friday in Los Angeles, where protesters threw eggs at ICE vehicles after agency agents detained undocumented immigrants. In images posted Saturday on Platform X by Border Patrol chief Michael Banks and shared by Stephen Miller – an adviser to President Donald Trump – dozens of armed agents in military uniforms can be seen confronting protesters. Commenting on the incidents, Steven Miller called it an “insurgency” against the rule of law and the national sovereignty of the US.
