Two children were recovered unconscious from the Arachthos River near Neochori in Arta, where they had gone swimming.
According to reports, the children were part of a group of four. Two of them managed to get out of the water a short while later, but the other two, aged 12 and 15, were swept away by the river’s current. No adult was present with them.
An alert was raised in the area, and around 1:30 PM the two children were found by local residents who had entered the river with boats, according to epiruspost.gr.
Ambulances arrived at the scene, picked up the children, and transported them to the hospital in Arta.
