Workshop on Artificial Intelligence in Greece and the European Union

On Saturday 14 June in Athens on the initiative of the MEP Dimitris Tsiodras

Newsroom June 11 04:20

At a time when Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly reshaping every aspect of society and the economy, Greece is called upon to prepare itself strategically, design policies, and claim an active role on the European and global innovation map.
In this context, on the initiative of New Democracy MEP Dimitris Tsiodras, the conference entitled “Greece and the EU in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” will take place on Saturday, June 14, from 10:00 to 14:30, at the Hermes Hall of the Athens Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The conference will focus on the prospects and challenges of AI at the European and national levels. The aim is to promote a secure, humane, and democratic digital future, as well as to strengthen Greece’s role as a country that contributes to innovation and the development of human-centered policies.

The event will be attended by European Commissioners, government officials, academics, and AI professionals, who will discuss, among others:
– What the European AI Regulation (AI Act), the world’s first complete legal framework for AI, provides.
– How the Greek AI ecosystem is taking shape.
– What is the impact of AI on the economy, education, and health?
– What policies ensure its democratic, responsible, and transparent use?
The reference point will be the “Plan for Greece’s Transition to the Age of Artificial Intelligence”, which was prepared by the Advisory Committee on AI, under the coordination of the General Secretariat for Long-Term Planning.
It is a coherent framework that captures the country’s vision and steps for the integration of AI in society and the economy.
