The report states that the deal is sealed, with an initial fee of £29.78 million (€35 million). It continues:

“This is by far the highest amount ever received by a Greek club, surpassing the £16.6 million Wolverhampton paid for Daniel Podence from Olympiakos in 2020.”

If the agreed bonus clause of £1.7 million is activated, the transfer will also become a record for the most expensive Greek player of all time, exceeding the £30.63 million Napoli paid Roma for Kostas Manolas in 2019.

The article also presents Kostoulas’ profile and mentions his agent, Giorgos Panou, emphasizing:

“He is known for discovering NBA superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo and is now managing Kostoulas’ football career. Just as he spotted Giannis playing in Greece’s second basketball division in 2013, he discovered Kostoulas at age 15 in a U19 match.”

It includes statements from Panou, who said:

“I felt the same when I first saw Babis as I did with Giannis. I immediately saw his calmness, immense talent, physical presence, and confidence to face older and stronger players without fear. I saw his potential to evolve.”

Panou also explained why they chose Brighton:

“They won us over—me and the family—with how they speak, negotiate, and provide all the tools for development. They have a great record of nurturing young talent. So, we feel very comfortable, and I’m sure Babis will adapt quickly. For me, it was the only option.”
