Germany, France, and Britain are ready to hold immediate talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program, in an effort to de-escalate the situation in the Middle East, said German Foreign Minister Johan Vandeful (photo).
Vandeful, who is currently visiting the Middle East, stated that he is trying to contribute toward de-escalating the conflict between Israel and Iran, noting that Tehran has previously failed to seize the opportunity for constructive dialogue.
“I hope that this is still possible,” Vandeful told the German public broadcaster ARD. “Germany, together with France and Britain, is ready. We are offering Iran immediate negotiations on its nuclear program. I hope this offer will be accepted.”
“This is also a key precondition for achieving peace in this conflict — that Iran is not a threat to the region, to the state of Israel, or to Europe.”
