Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that he plans to discuss the purchase of new weapons for Ukraine with former U.S. President Donald Trump during the upcoming G7 Summit.
Currently visiting Austria, Zelensky will travel to Canada to participate in the Group of Seven (G7) summit on Tuesday.
“One of the key topics I will discuss with President Trump during our meeting is the defense package that Ukraine is prepared to purchase,” Zelensky said during a press conference in Vienna.
The planned talks come amid ongoing efforts by Ukraine to strengthen its defense capabilities in response to Russia’s ongoing invasion, while international discussions continue regarding Western military aid and defense support.
