Grevena: Objects from the Ancient to the Byzantine era and a fossil of a proboscis animal were found

Two men, aged 36 and 68, were arrested

Several ancient objects of historical and archaeological value, from the Ancient, Roman, and Byzantine periods, dating from the 5th century BC, were found in an area of Grevena by police officers of the Department for the Prosecution and Detection of Crimes of Grevena. to the 15th century AD.

During an organized operation, two men, aged 36 and 68 years old, were arrested, against whom a case file was opened for violation of the legislation on the protection of antiquities and cultural heritage in general.

Among other things, a fossil of a proboscidean animal, estimated to be about three million years old, 1,096 ancient coins of various sizes, 49 pieces of ancient jewelry, 123 appendages of banquet utensils and clothing of historical and archaeological value, etc.
